Egypt: Satirist Bassem Youssef´s Show Censored

Just a week after the airing of the first episode of the third season of his popular show “Al Bernameg”, Egyptian satirist Bassem Youssef has seen his show taken off from air. The news was greeted with disbelief, irony and vehement critics to the perceived censorship from the army, and to what some called self-censorship. The irony of it all: Censoring humor and sarcasm in a country which has built a reputation on it’s sharp sense of humour. “Forbid Laughter” is a cartoon by Egyptian Doaa Al Adl in solidarity with Youssef.
