Edward Snowden was nominated by Swedish professor Stefan Svallfors for the Nobel Peace prize. Mainstream media organizations in the USA decided to ignore the nomination.

After the nomination WikiLeaks tweeted that the Nobel Peace Prize is corrupt, an instrument of foreign policy. But Svallfors is hoping that this nomination could “help to save the Nobel Peace Prize from the disrepute incurred by the hasty and ill-conceived decision to award US President Barack Obama [with the] 2009 award.”
